Tat
Dance is the poetry of genuine human experience, and Tatyana is a lifelong student of its forms and rhythms. Inspired by her fellow dancers, her teachers and mentors, and the music itself, she is excited to share her art with you tonight.

Laura Cunradi lives in San Francisco and is a member of Khepri Dance Company.

Anastasia felt a deep attraction to music and dances of the Middle East since she was a child. Many travels, dance styles and adventures later, she has finally found her true dance home here in the Bay Area tribal fusion belly dance community. She is very grateful to Amar and everyone in the Underground Nomads community for extending such a warm welcome to her and to all dancers, and for being an invaluable part of her journey in exploring this art form. She is thrilled to have an opportunity to host one of the magical Nomads parties!

Deidre Anaid is a Bay area transplant by way of South Texas.  She began her dance training as a child and has dabbled with various styles of movement from clogging, tap dance, ballet folklorico, Hatian dance, Kathak, butoh, dancehall, and Azteca danza. Her belly dance training began in 2005, and she continues to study with some of the area’s top innovators of tribal fusion. Her love of dance has inspired her to create without boundaries, while striving to gift audiences with original presentations, through her often improvisational performances. Inspired by her travels, studies of music, culture and dance ; she presents a  blend of old and new school movements for a style all her own.

Nancy
Nancy Trunzo is certified Health Coach, Fitness Trainer, and Belly Dance Professional. She focuses on working with people who are overwhelmed by fitness options, dislike the gym/diet/fitness culture, desperately want to feel better & move their bodies with less pain. She found bellydance 15 years ago and has been on a path of education and physical fitness ever since. She was a founding member of the Bay Area chapter of Qabila Folk dance company and is the director of Urban Flowers Belly Dance based in Oakland.

JennieMarie
Jennie Marie is a dancer and performance artist based out of Big Sur, California. In late 2015 she took her first belly dance class and her life changed over night. She now performs with cabaret storytellers Big Surcus, and is constantly refining and defining herself as a new performer.

Nicole
Nicole Maria is an award-winning belly dancer based out of Oakland, California.
She has been studying, teaching, and performing contemporary and traditional forms of Middle Eastern dance since 2009. She teaches and performs as a solo dancer and in various Middle Eastern dance companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Jessica
Jessica Cooper has been bellydancing for over 17 years and performing way before she should have been.  She is an avid student of both fusion and traditional styles.  She is a principal dancer and artistic director of BiG SuRCuS of Big Sur, CA, and is an original member of Zoe Jakes’ Coven Dance Company.

Shanti
Shanti Bardot is bellydancer based in Oakland, CA who is currently obsessed with Arabic Folkdance.  She is most commonly found watching Parks and Recreation and air punching to klezmer tunes.
Shanti is a certified Datura Style Bellydance instructor through Rachel Brice and director of the Bay Area chapter of Qabila Folkdance Company..  Shanti Bardot BellyDance & Yoga

Kami
Kami Liddle has been a student of dance since she was 4 years old including ballet, tap, jazz, modern and hip hop. After a brief interlude as a musician, Kami reunited with dance when she was 18 years old when she began to study cabaret style belly dance until she found her passion in improvisational belly dance via Fat Chance Belly Dance. Kami holds a B.A. in Art with a Minor in Dance from the University of Nevada, Reno. Full bio at kamiliddle.com

Niusha
Niusha teaches belly dance in Lafayette and enjoys sharing her love of dance with people of all ages. She  believes that dance is a way to  share a piece of yourself and connect with the world around you to help you realize your best. Niusha has performed in many belly dance troupes including Serpent Sirens, Rockin’ The Cradle and Shimmy Dreams. She also directs her own troupe Hip Logic who perform both classic and fusion styles of belly dance around the Bay Area.

Dance has been a constant in Isabel’s Life even at 9 months pregnant which you will be able to witness.

Tina’s passion for music, culture and athletic movement started at a young age which later culminated in an unrelenting desire to study dance.  Ultimately, her passion led her to bellydance where she has focused her training for over a decade. Under the guidance and training of Suhaila Salimpour and the Salimpour School since 2006, she has refined her skills and continues to perform throughout the bay area as a soloist and has also had the amazing opportunity to tour nationally and internationally as a member of Bal Anat and the Suhaila Dance Company.

Abigail2
Abigail is a dancer, writer, and educator based in Berkeley. She holds Level 5 in both the Suhaila and Jamila Salimpour Formats and an MA in Dance Studies from Mills College.

Michiyo is an ATS® dancer / instructor in the Bay Area and performs with FCBD® and Tessera Tribal®. ATS® with a Spanish Fan was born for the special occasion when she was asked to perform Bellydance at the Flamenco show in Vegas some time ago. Invited by Anastasia, Michiyo is excited to share her piece at the Orange Room “Underground Nomads Pre Pre NYE Party”.

Danielle White started belly dancing in 2006 and was a member of The Lost Jewels of the Ghawazee. She started studying with Ariellah in 2014 and regularly performs with the Darker Still Ensemble throughout the Bay Area. Danielle also serves as the assistant director of Deshret Dance Company. She has completed Integrated Dance with Ashley Lopez, as well as the third phase of Rachel Brice’s 8 Elements Program. To continually hone her movement vocabulary and personal style, she also cross trains in strength training, hip hop, and jazz classes. When she’s not dancing, she’s either photographing or adorning dancers.

This is the big one! Not only is it a 5th Tuesday Benefit night. Not only is it Underground Nomads’ 5th anniversary. But it is also Underground Nomads’ last show! And it will be EPIC. Promise. 🙂

This Benefit is for you!
On 5th Tuesdays, we have hosted benefit nights for different charity organizations and causes that we have wanted to support. Since this night is our final weekly Tuesday, we invite you to come for free, though we will happily accept donations which will go to the performers, and we encourage tips for our performers. Bring your IDs, as this is a 21+ venue.

NOTE EARLY START TIME:
Doors 7:45pm / Show 8:45pm / AfterParty in Back Room 10:00pm
We will have 2 sets of performances. First set will be at 8:45. Second set will be at 9:30pm.
Then we will have an AfterParty in the back room from 10:00pm onward.

This is our last Weekly Tuesday, but it is not the last Underground Nomads show. We will continue to host occasional shows in the Bay area, here at F8 and in other locations around the bay, as well as in different cities around the world. We have shows in the works in Oakland, Seattle and Spain. Keep an eye here on the website for updates, or subscribe to the blog and you will receive notifications. Guest dancer Analetta is from Billings, Montana and has been dancing for 7 years. She is a Rachel Brice certified 8 Elements Practitioner and has also earned Zoe Jakes Dancecraft Key of Diamonds certification. She has been doing ITS for 4 years with Tesseract Dance Collective. She makes most of her costumes and jewelry herself; occasionally she sells some of what she makes.

Introducing Ishtar-Lhotus: Ishtar-Lhotus of Soul Synergy ARTventures is a multimedia expressive arts performer, combining elements from various eclectic childhood travels. Originally from the Los Angeles areas, she has also performed in the SF Bay Area for Dancing Poetry Festivals, Bare Bones Butoh, Alameda Museum, Alameda Theatre, Oakland Asian Cultural Center, Lunar New Year Festival, SF Asian Heritage Street Celebrations, Easter holiday church presentations, Birthday requests, special gala events, and random open mic/stages. The idea of Fusion, especially Tribal Fusion in the realms of feminine movement dance forms, has called to Ishtar-Lhotus on an intuitive instinctual aesthetic heart level as long as she can remember. She is delighted to now share in the San Francisco Bay Area music/dance communities which have been keeping these treasured practices alive, vital, inspired, and inspiring!
